As the new Chair of UMCNC, I intend to bring a new value proposition to our members through effective training you can use, networking you can count on and vetted mentoring that works. Nominated by North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development as “Minority Business Advocate of the Year” we are able to provide the most effective and influential source of change for the minority construction community through our advocacy, access, networking, training and collaborations with corporations, owners, trade and non-profit organizations.
I am committed to assisting our members in identifying and obtaining new opportunities for their businesses and increased private and public opportunities. This includes more opportunities as prime contractors, more sub-contracting with larger, major contractors, as well as discovering new opportunities by working better together.
I am very excited to be the Chair of UMCNC. I have been active with UMCNC for the past three years and have served on the Board since 2010. Additionally, I am CEO of Structure Building Company, a construction services firm based in Durham, North Carolina. I intend to use my experiences as a business owner and general contractor to provide the highest level of support to our membership.
Jonathan Farrar, Chairman
